The Shimadzu Foundation Memorial Hall
(A museum in Kyoto featured in Mushishi, Vol. 3, page 238)

My wife and I were traveling through Kyoto to see the sights. She had read Mushishi Vol. 3, so she did some research for us, and after hitting the Golden Pavilion and some other popular attractions, we stopped by the museum. The staff said it was okay to take pictures -- I hope it's also okay to post them...

It was late afternoon when we arrived. This is the museum as taken from the paid parkinglot nearby.

Urushibara-sensei talked about the stained glass doors, so I turned around a took a picture of them.

The "runner up" mentioned in the appendix.

And (drum roll, please), "the best"!

DSC00075

This was right next to "the best" I have no idea what it is for, but it sure looks "scientific"!!

I hate to argue with Urushibara-sensei, but I thought this was the best. Still, it's exactly as Sensei described.

Detail of the teacher and student.
Like Sensei said, very cute!

It was dusk when I left, but I wanted
a picture of the museum's sign.
